A variety of education classes are available to anyone in the Edmonton area, no referral required.

All of these classes are offered virtually. January to March 2022 dates will be available mid-December.

Mental Health

Happiness Basics

Learn how to make lifestyle changes and add new habits into your everyday life to boost your overall happiness. Taking Happiness Basics has been shown to increase mood, increase energy levels, and boost physical and mental health.’

Understanding Depression

Depression can affect anyone at any time in their life. You are not alone! Join this workshop to learn about the signs, symptoms and treatments available to you, including therapy and medication options.

Journeying Through Grief

Grief is an emotional reaction to loss. There are over 40 different types of losses that we can incur over a lifetime. This class is an action-oriented process to help participants understand what grief and unresolved grief are.  Myths and ineffective behaviours will be addressed while taking healing actions to help you preserve your memories without them turning painful.

If you’ve been struggling with stress, anxiety or depression, this class is a great starting point. In this 30-minute video, we explore some common mental health concerns and teach coping strategies.


Workplace Stress & Bullying

If you’re experiencing stress and bullying in the workplace, watch this informative online seminar. We’ll review negative workplace conditions, the causes, and how they affect people’s overall mental and physical level of functioning. Learn what you can do to alleviate the stress, how to handle bullying, and coping mechanisms to get your work-life balance on track.


Coping with Anger

Want to learn how to deal with your anger? In this online video, clinicians talk about what causes and maintains anger, help you learn about your own anger styles, and touch on why we get so angry. You’ll be introduced to cognitive behavioural therapy methods of coping and working through anger, and get strategies on how to implement changes in everyday life.

6-Session Obesity Clinic Nutrition Classes

Daily activity tips and weight-loss strategies offered at every session. Patients are encouraged to attend all six sessions and can start during any week as the classes repeat every six sessions. Attend one class or attend all.

Mindful Eating

Why Nutrition Matters

If you have questions about what to eat or how much to eat, this class could be for you! Learn how your body’s digestive system works, how to space out your meals and include a balance of nutrients in your meals to help you feel full and energized until your next mealtime. This class also covers many popular nutrition and food myths. You’ll leave the class with a better understanding of how to fuel your body to meet your nutrient needs.

Introduction to Mindful Eating Active Living

If you’ve struggled with being on diets in the past, have frequent food cravings or often feel uncomfortable in your body, this class could be for you. The introductory class offers you a different non-diet approach so that you may better understand why you eat the way you do.

You’ll be given tools to help increase a feeling of control over food and satisfaction with eating. The class is designed to give you a different perspective on weight loss with an overall goal of helping you feel at peace with your body.

Heart Health

This class will provide you with a greater understanding of what hypertension and dyslipidemia are and what factors cause them, as well as effective ways to control and treat them. Learn how your diet and medication work to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol to improve your Heart Health.

Protein & Fibre

Are there benefits of getting enough fibre and protein in your diet? If you’re trying to manage your appetite and your weight, there is evidence this can help! A Registered Dietitian will help you evaluate your diet and find practical ways to make sure you are “hitting the mark” for both protein and fibre.

In this online class, you’ll learn about effective healthy eating strategies for general health and for a variety of health conditions – from diabetes to weight management to high cholesterol.

Drop-In Exercise

Led by an Exercise Specialist, this class focuses on guiding you through low impact stretches and exercises. Each class will focus on a specific muscle group, so you optimize your workout and learn exercises associated with different muscle groups. We do not require medical screenings for participation in this class, so if you have any concerns please contact one of our Exercise Specialists to discuss them.

Beginner Exercise Class

Beginner workout you can do from your living room. Exercise Specialists will lead you through a fitness session that is good for your heart and muscles. Suitable for all levels of fitness.
